Story Title
This was anotherFREE gig in Bromley and it was a superb one again. Support once more from the excellent Sunday driver. Bromley locals Eleven days ago unfortunately had to pull out due to illness but we hope to get them back in another time.
This was another FREE gig it was outdoors. We were supporting the shops of Letchworth Drive having thier christmas lights turned on by Roary the Lion and Santa himself (honest guv he does exist). The Devs played outdoors at -3C but were kept warm by hot booze, mince pies and best of all a curry. Support came from the Salvation army, The Hayes Players Singing Group Quintessence and either Frank Sinatra/Elvis Presley/Tony Bennet/Lenny bennett.
This was bit of a party and devarillaz were out to celebrate and promote the release of "See the Lie" on Chromium records, nice.
JOHN PEEL DAY
This was a celebration of John Peel in Bromley with support from the excellent Sunday Driver. It was a cracker from both ourselves and Sunday driver. More of the same for xmas
Adventures in east london, line up includes Invisible Lead Soup, The Vital Shore and Russell Joslin
B.O.T.B. Dodgy last minute arrivals from Ash and Dave made it a hairy one (so to speak). It's odd have unloaded set up, played and packed up again within 30 mins but that's what it was like. We lost this one on the basis that we were not lively enough (which is probably true). Blue Nile and Terry hall be warned don't play here they listen with thier eyes. ...bada bing bada bong....
Ash back home in west london "It's wierd being in Shepherd's Bush when rangers arn't playing but what the hey at least you can park the car". A quick in and out in the bush so to speak and if we venture down to bath we will be off to see The Duckworths do a full set. We discovered that if you do an unfunny joke you can keep saying it over and over and over until finally you get a chuckle or a twating off the band you just insulted. However with that said maybe we should change our name to the fuckwits.. I said maybe we should change our name to the fuckwits. Good luck in Mykanos to the duckworths by the way.

Free Night Friday gig at Infernos with Sunday Driver. What a great night down at inferno's? A really good venue and really good sets from Sunday Driver and ourselves. We shall be returning here again in the near future. Watch this space.

Headline gig in Greenwich with support from Long Time Down. Despite some serious equipment failure for Ash, this was a really good gig. Everyone really enjoyed long time down's set as well it was a really good fun night. The only downside to our popularity was that we played past last orders and couldn't get a beer afterwards for love nor money. Still c'est la vie. Ash also really enjoyed being mistaken for a mini cab driver outside the pub afterwards. "Go on mate just drop me and me mates off in lewisham". Nice. Well done for not noticing that the car was full of music equipment we hope to be reuniting that geezer with his cerebrum soon.
We played in a new venue on it's debut night in Greenwich. despite some early teething problems with equipment the bands all had a really good sound in what we can only describe as southeast London's version of the cavern club. We all really enjoyed ourselves and made some new mates as well (feel the love hmm go on feel it). On the night we were joined by Long Time Down and Sunday Driver
Great gigs from 4 different bands
Cool gig apart from eveyone having to play late and having to cut their sets short etc etc whinge, whinge, toys, pram, etc etc. First gig since October and Andy Blake's first gig in the drum saddle. A good gig especially our new reworked verion of suffocation but gig highlight of the night was new song "liar". Good to see Kefranski again as it's been 7 months since we last played together. Great set from da youth as well their new bass player seems to have fitted in very well. Last word is on the Hedstones who made this their farewell gig. Good luck in whatever you do in the future lads.
GIG 13
Live Music Night. Oh lordy what happened. Ian's pedal board went on the blink the monitors went on the blink so we couldn't hear ourselves at all and mid way through bulletproof Gaz's bass amp fell off the table it had been sitting on and nearly broke his foot, and his tuner, and his jack plugs, which inidentaly had been pulled out so he had no sound until he had scratched around in the dark and plugged them back in ..Doh!. On the plus side "See the lie" our newest tune was spot on and very well received.
Great gigs from 3 different bands
The devs played again with Illustrated Youth and with Noise abatement act (you may remember from Covent garden gig). Really good night and very energetic set from noise abatement who were well on form. Ash is very jealous of the Fender jag by the way. Top tunes from 'da youth'especially the new one and great rendition of jet morden classic "are you gonna be my girl"

A great day and evening out
Live Music event. Admission Free, DEVARILLAZ played with  Flatline, Dirty Electric, Climate and   Amnesia. Amnesia kicked things off with a cover of a Ronan Keating song. NOW we were shocked when we heard the first verse of when you say nothing at all and we all prayed that it would end. However they kicked in with the full band and tore that song to pieces. Fantastic they had pulled us one way and then kicked us up the arse very enjoyable.
Something different. Climate had a great set and a great support. Nice not to be the only band with a keyboard player. Apparently it was thier first gig. It didn't show they looked very solid.
A Great Friday Night Out admission with our flyer £4.00 (£5. without one)
Live Music with Steeler and The Hedstones More details to follow
Fantastic night. A really good sound in the Amersham and we had the place dancing up and down. A big thanks to the Chislehurst crowd for making the night what it was.
Last Croydon gig before the release of the new demo
DEVARILLAZ headlined with support from stablemates; Illustrated Youth. Chad Mantras Opened up with a really good set. Illustrated mixed up thier set since the last gig and added a couple of new tunes which were really enjoyable. We played for ages though and we need this break we have coming up to write more songs as we could have played for longer last night. This night was dedicated to James O'Reilly top fan top bloke

A new Venue for us but one we will definately do again. We were due to play with Kefranski and Smiling Strange. Smiling strange had to do a catholic (pull out last minute) due to illness and hopefully we will get to see them play another time. Kefranski were hugely enjoyable and we hope to get them down to our neck of the woods for a gig or two. A good night and a really good relaxed setup I hope this pub grows as a live music venue. 156-158 Mile End Road

B.O.T.B. Great night despite a dissapointing result. We Won in the crowds eyes but not the judges.
The Devarillaz played support to the energetic Illustrated Youth along with local band, Sleepglue.
The night kicked off with Sleepglue performing a great set even though they didn't have their drummer with them. From the sounds of them, when they are all present they must really rock. After we had been on, it was time for the Illustrated Youth to let rip. Let rip they did. Apart from having the most amazing fans, they are really coming together as an Indie band. The crowd went wild, "The Youth" played out of their skins and the night was a fantastic success.
DEVARILLAZ played for the first time North of the Thames. The Pleasure Unit offered a nice jazz cafe style size venue.
Playing as support to two bands, Couch Platos and Flatline, the night was a beautiful amalgamation of lyrical songs, performed brilliantly. The turn out was not huge, but this suits the biju venue nicely (oh, and all bands travelled miles to play here!). The atmosphere was good and all the bands participated with each other to give support and help where it was needed.
A wonderful venue to play, good prices and good sounds.
The Brixton Telegraph - 3rd June 2004   Map
Back to where we started and opening for other bands for the first time since March. DEVARILLAZ Played Brixton and despite a couple of problems with the levels The Telegraph is still a good venue. The fans gave us a good turn out condsidering we had to change nights at short notice.
Playing on the night were the beautiful Kito Kito and 3 miles from. Kito provided a decent change to the styles and formats of live music being played locally. Its safe to say they offered the fans a different style to listen to. 3 miles from were the headline act and were recently made Virgin Radio's unsigned band of the week. Its easy to see why from their proffessional attitudes and stylish performance on the night. All in all, a perfect night - especially at such short notice.
The Cartoon - 23rd May 2004   Map
The nights are getting lighter, the weather is sunny and Croydon play host to DEVARILLAZ. The Cartoon allowed us to put on a night of live music, and they weren't dissapointed. With three other bands; Illustrated Youth, Violet High, and Freevision, the night was a storming success. The band genres swayed around the Rock mark but it was the diversity of the night which added the appeal.
Many thanks to Noel at The Cartoon for giving us the chance to stage a Local Live Music Night. Also special praise has to go to Sammy from Illustrated Youth, Luis from Freevision and of course Jason from Violet High. Without you guys keeping in contact and all agreeing to help each other out, the gig wouldn't have gone so smoothly. One last final thank you has to go to Trisha and the sound engineer (the best in the business) at The Cartoon.
The Telegraph - 31st March 2004   Map
Wednesday night, England vs Sweden, and it still feels like winter. Nonetheless, the gig was set and Mike Weller at Amberlamp Promotions had rigged up a 4 band night. As it turned out, 2 of the 4 bands had pulled out and the start was delayed in order to make the night longer. DEVARILLAZ (known as Igloo then) played as support for Kilometre:42. A huge turn out of fans numbering at least 40 showed their support for us and turned what could have been a flop, into a success.
For a first gig, the venue, fans and night couldn't have been better. Many thanks to Mike Weller for his invitation back, and for providing a top quality sound engineer. We will be re-playing the Telegraph on June 2nd.
