DEVARILLAZ first started out in 2003 as a different set up as to what they are now. Originally named 'Igloo', the band comprised of Ash, Ian writing and playing accoustic songs. Dave was brought in at add some piano touches to tunes to fill out the sound a bit.They decided that to do the best possible gigs they should go out as a full band. Gaz and Jones then joined as Bass player and drummer respectivly.

Quickly the lads bonded as a group and immediately set up regular weekly practises. Slowly but surely songs and lyrics were put together, mostly formed in jamming sessions.
It took a couple of months to finally be in a position to put a Demo together, and so the date was set for the band's first studio session. The band recorded the tracks Bulletproof and Breathe. This demo was hastily sent out to venues in the hope of some Live oppertunities.

The first gig offered to Igloo was at the telegraph in Brixton on 31st March 2004. Although they returned to the telegraph for more gigs it was the cartoon in croydon that made the bigger difference. By the time of the first Cartoon gig the band knew that the name igloo was taken by a signed band in the states and they decided to change it. At the cartoon they first met Illustrated youth. So far devarillaz and Illustrated youth have gigged together 6 times and more gigs together are being lined up for the future. In November 2004 devarillaz and Jonesy parted company and Andy Blake joined as the new Drummer.

Further recordings done were Too much, London Life and 5 guys recorded with the original line up in August 2004 and See the lie and Liar recorded in June 2005 with the current line up.
